Participation in International Statistical Conferences
United Nations Statistical Commission
- The United Nations Statistical Commission (UNSC)
is a Functional Commission of the UN Economic and Social Council. It is held every year (every other year until 1997) and discusses issues related international statistical standards, development and implementation of statistical concepts and methods and so on. Japan participates the UNSC as a member country since 1962 (except for the period from 1970 to 1972).

World Statistics Day
- The United Nations General Assembly adopted Resolution (A/RES/64/267) on the World Statistics Day (20 October) at its 64th session on 3 June 2010. This was the first time to celebrate the world wide statistics day, while the Japanese Statistics Day (Link to Japanese site)
has a long history since 1973.
