3. Marital Status

The ratio of never-married had dramatically risen in late twenties to thirties.

  As for marital status for persons aged 15 years old and over,the ratio of married male was 60.8%, and those of married female was 57.0%. Then the ratio of never-married male was 31.4%, and those of female was 23.2%.
  The ratio of never-married male and female aged 25-29 was 71.4% and 59.0%, respectively. It was 2.1 and 5.0 percentage points higher compared with 2000. The ratio of never-married male and female aged 30-34 had risen by 4.2 percentage points and 5.4 percentage points to 47.1% and 32.0%, respectively, compared with 2000. Then, the ratio of never-married male and female aged 35-39 was 30.0% and 18.4%, respectively, rising by 4.3 and 4.6 percentage points compared with 2000. (Fig. 6)
