The 2006 Establishment and Enterprise Census

The Establishment and Enterprise Census, conducted on all establishments in Japan, is one of the most basic censuses of this country. The objectives of this census are to clarify the basic structure of establishments and enterprises in Japan, such as the size of industry and number of persons engaged, to provide basic data used for various policy planning of the national and local governments, and to compile the directory of establishments and enterprises as the master sampling frame for various statistical surveys on establishments and enterprises.

*The 2006 Establishment and Enterprise Census is the final census. It has been integrated into the Economic Census from 2009.
