Dr. Shailja Sharma, New Director of UNSIAP, visited the SBJ
On June 23, Dr. Shailja Sharma, New Director of the United Nations Statistical Institute for Asia and the Pacific (UNSIAP), visited the Statistics Bureau of Japan (SBJ). She exchanged greetings with Mr. INOUE Takashi, Director-General of the SBJ.

The 1st Dispatch of a Mission Team to CAPMAS in Egypt for "Developing Time Use Survey and Statistical Methods (Including SDGs Indicators) Using IT"
The SBJ dispatched the 1st mission team to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) in Egypt from June 9 to 21, 2022, as part of the country-focused training course on "Development of Time Use Survey and Statistical Methods (Including SDGs Indicators) Using IT" produced by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Since the program had been suspended for years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the mission team conducted demand surveys and discussions regarding future training with CAPMAS. During the mission, a seminar was held to share information on the status of statistical surveys as well as challenges and future plans in both Egypt and Japan.
