NEWS HIGHLIGHTS

Country Focused Training Course on Development of Time Use Survey and Statistical Methods (Including SDGs Indicators) Using IT for CAPMAS

  The Statistics Bureau of Japan (SBJ) in combination with the National Statistics Center (NSTAC) cooperates with the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) in Egypt on the "Country Focused Training Course on Development of Time Use Survey and Statistical Methods (Including SDGs Indicators) Using IT for CAPMAS".

  The training has been conducted for 3 years between January 2020 and December 2022. It aims to strengthen the capacity of CAPMAS for implementation of the time use survey and other statistical surveys using IT. For this purpose, the SBJ offers trainings in order to build and improve the capacity of CAPMAS staff.

  • The population aged 15 to 64 was 75,131 thousand, a decrease of 394 thousand (0.52 percent) from the previous year.
  • The population aged 65 and over was 35,829 thousand, an increase of 320 thousand (0.90 percent) from the previous year.

  • The number of inter-prefectural migrants (Japanese) was 127,146, a decrease of 693 (0.5 %) from the previous year.

"Annual Report on Internal Migration in Japan" (2019)

  • The number of inter-prefectural migrants was 2,568,086, an increase of 32,485 from the previous year.
  • The number of positive net-migration was increased in 8 prefectures.
  • The number of positive net-migration for Tokyo Area was 148,783, increased by 8,915 persons.
  • 26.2 percent of municipalities in Japan had positive net-migration.
  • As for Japanese migrants, Tokyo area had positive net-migration for the 24th consecutive year. Both Nagoya area and Osaka area had negative net-migration for the 7th consecutive year.

    The average of monthly consumption expenditures per household for December 2019 was 321,380 yen, down *3.9 % in nominal terms and down *4.8 % in real terms from the previous year.

  • Income and Expenditures for Workers? Households
    The average of monthly income per household stood at 1,074,143 yen, down *1.0 % in nominal terms and down *1.9 % in real terms from the previous year.
    The average of consumption expenditures per household was 345,370 yen, down *3.2 % in nominal terms and down *4.1 % in real terms from the previous year.
