New Director-General of the Statistics Bureau

   On July 7, 2023, Mr. IWASA Tetsuya was appointed as the Director-General of Statistics Bureau of Japan (SBJ), succeeding Mr. INOUE Takashi.

   In his career, Mr. IWASA contributed to various statistical activities. Most recently, he served as the Deputy Director-General, Minister's Secretariat, from July 2019 to July 2021. Furthermore, he also served as the Director-General, Statistical Survey Department of SBJ, from July 2021 to July 2023.
