The Fiscal 2021 Budget for the Statistics Bureau and the Director-General for Policy Planning (Statistical Standards) of Japan Approved
The Japanese government's budget for the fiscal year 2021 was passed by the Diet on March 26, 2021. The nation's budget for general account spending is approximately 106.6 trillion yen, which marked a record high.
The total budget for the Statistics Bureau and the Director-General for Policy Planning (Statistical Standards) of Japan, excluding regular personnel expenses, is approximately 31.1 billion yen.

- The consumer price index for Japan in February 2021 was 101.6 (2015=100), down 0.4% over the year before seasonal adjustment, and up 0.1% from the previous month on a seasonally adjusted basis.

- The total population was 125,708 thousand, a decrease of 459 thousand (0.36%) from the previous year.
- The population under 15 years old was 15,025 thousand, a decrease of 185 thousand (1.22%) from the previous year.
- The population aged 15 to 64 was 74,492 thousand, a decrease of 579 thousand (0.77%) from the previous year.
- The population aged 65 and over was 36,191 thousand, an increase of 306 thousand (0.85%) from the previous year.
- Japanese population was 123,250 thousand, a decrease of 481 thousand (0.39%) from the previous year.

Monthly Report on Internal Migration in Japan (February 2021)
- The number of internal migrants (All nationalities) was 376,039, an increase of 13,963 (3.9%) from the previous year.
- The number of inter-prefectural migrants (All nationalities) was 165,465, an increase of 5,910 (3.7%) from the previous year.
- The number of intra-prefectural migrants (All nationalities) was 210,574, an increase of 8,053 (4.0%) from the previous year.
- The number of internal migrants (Japanese) was 332,330, an increase of 5,615 (1.7%) from the previous year.
- The number of inter-prefectural migrants (Japanese) was 140,919, a decrease of 164 (0.1%) from the previous year.
- The number of intra-prefectural migrants (Japanese) was 191,411, an increase of 5,779 (3.1%) from the previous year.

The average of monthly consumption expenditures per household for February 2021 was 252,451 yen, down 7.1% in nominal terms and down 6.6% in real terms from the previous year. - Income and Expenditures for Workers? Households
The average of monthly income per household stood at 535,392 yen, down 0.4% in nominal terms and up 0.1% in real terms from the previous year.
The average of consumption expenditures per household was 280,781 yen, down 7.4% in nominal terms and down 6.9% in real terms from the previous year.
