The Final Results of the 2019 Economic Census for Business Frame Released (the Number of Privately Owned Establishments)
On December 25, 2020, the Statistics Bureau of Japan (SBJ) released the number of privately owned establishments from the results of the 2019 Economic Census for Business Frame. The Census was conducted to clarify the basic structure of establishments and enterprises, such as their status of economic activities, on a national and regional level, and to contribute to the maintenance of the Establishment Frame Database (Business Register).
The Economic Census for Business Frame consists of two types of surveys: one targets privately owned establishments and the other targets establishments of national and local governments. The latter was released on June 30, 2020.

The current number of privately owned establishments is 6,398,912.

The consumer price index for Japan in November 2020 was 101.3 (2015=100), down 0.9% over the year before seasonal adjustment, and down 0.4% from the previous month on a seasonally adjusted basis.

- The total population was 125,836 thousand, a decrease of 429 thousand (0.34%) from the previous year.

- The population aged 15 to 64 was 74,645 thousand, a decrease of 534 thousand (0.71%) from the previous year.
- The population aged 65 and over was 36,115 thousand, an increase of 314 thousand (0.88%) from the previous year.

Monthly Report on Internal Migration in Japan (November 2020)
- The number of internal migrants (All nationalities) was 342,467, an increase of 5,601 (1.7%) from the previous year.
- The number of inter-prefectural migrants (All nationalities) was 140,231, an increase of 597 (0.4%) from the previous year.
- The number of intra-prefectural migrants (All nationalities) was 202,236, an increase of 5,004 (2.5%) from the previous year.
- The number of internal migrants (Japanese) was 312,989, an increase of 14,646 (4.9%) from the previous year.
- The number of inter-prefectural migrants (Japanese) was 124,926, an increase of 5,414 (4.5%) from the previous year.
- The number of intra-prefectural migrants (Japanese) was 188,063, an increase of 9,232 (5.2%) from the previous year.

Labour Force Survey (Basic Tabulation) (November 2020)
- The number of employed persons in November 2020 was 67.07 million, a decrease of 550 thousand from the previous year.

The average of monthly consumption expenditures per household for November 2020 was 278,718 yen, remain unchanged in nominal terms and up 1.1% in real terms from the previous year. -
Income and Expenditures for Workers? Households
The average of consumption expenditures per household was 305,404 yen, up 0.5% in nominal terms and up 1.6% in real terms from the previous year.
The average of monthly income per household stood at 473,294 yen, down 0.5% in nominal terms and up 0.6% in real terms from the previous year.
