The 3rd Statistical Delegation from Vietnam visited the Statistics Bureau of Japan (October 2017)
The 3rd Statistical Delegation from Vietnam, headed by Mr.Nguyen Bich Lam, Director-General, General Statistics Office of Vietnam (GSO), visited SBJ from October 15 to 21, 2017, to learn SBJ's experiences on conducting the Population and Housing Census using online systems.
During the visit, they exchanged greetings with the senior officials of SBJ, and were given information on several topics by the SBJ staff: Outline of "Inter-Ministry Information System for Official Statistics", "System of Online Population Census", "Examples of Research and Analysis by Using Population Census Results", etc.
On October 20, they paid a courtesy visit to Mr.Shuji YAMADA, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications and Mr.Toshihiko WAKO, Vice-Minister for Policy Coordination for Internal Affairs and Communications.
The visit is based on the Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) between GSO and SBJ, which was signed on January 14, 2015, to establish the basis for in depth cooperation between both sides in the area of statistics and other related fields of mutual interests.
