Survey on Inland Water Fishery Catches This survey covers inland water fishery cooperatives which control the rivers, lakes and ponds described in the following, and further covers fishery management entities which conduct inland water fisheries in those rivers, lakes and ponds, excluding those which conduct inland water fisheries in Biwako, Kasumigaura and Kitaura Lakes. The rivers, lakes and ponds included in the survey are all those where fishery rights etc. are set up in the year of the Census of Fisheries. In other years, included are those rivers, lakes and ponds with 50 tons or more of annual fish catches where fishery rights are set up, and those rivers, lakes and ponds for which the annual survey is needed for nation’s administrative purposes. Survey of Shipments of Products in Landing Areas by Use The survey is conducted to clarify the volumes of shipments of major fishery products at major fishing ports throughout the country by use and to provide data for promoting supply and demand planning and improvement of distribution facilities for fishery products. The survey is conducted annually covering wholesalers, fisheries cooperatives, and wholesale brokers.
