Notes on the Statistical Tables
1 Accounting items such as sales and operating expenses (excluding inventories) indicate the figures for last one year from January to December. The initial inventory is as the end of December of two years ago, and the final one is as the end of last December. The items concerning the distribution of enterprises , such as the ages of business proprietors and the number of persons engaged are on June 1st of this year, and the figures for hiring and leaving reflect the conditions from June 1st of last year to May 31th of this year. The number of business(operating)days per year and average business(operating)hours per day are the fugures for last one year from January to December.
2 Total of itemized figures may not add up to totals because itemized figures are rounded.
3 Figures on ?change over the previous year? and ?percentage? are calculated from figures rounded to thousand.
4 ?-? indicates that the figure cannot be calculated, because data is not available or the denominator is ?0?. In the meantime, ?0? indicates that the figure is less than half of the given unit due to its being rounded to thousand.
5 Net operating profit includes the salaries of paid workers who are family members of the business proprietor.
6 Accounting items such as sales and operating expenses includes the consumption tax.
7 The industry classifications used in this table are organized and prepared according to the Japan Standard Industrial Classification, as shown in List of Industrial Classifications Used for Unincorporated Enterprise Survey(Excel:18 KB).
