23 Social Security 565Statistics on Accident Compensation for Local Public Employees These statistics are published annually by the Fund for Local Government Employees' Accident Compensation. They compile the status of recognition of accidents involving public service and commuting, as well as the status of compensation and welfare programs. Survey of Social Welfare Institutions This survey is conducted every year by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare with the aim to clarify the number of the nationwide social welfare institutions, conditions of inmates and personnel and obtaining basic data for the promotion of social welfare policy. The survey is conducted for social welfare institutions about types of the nationwide social welfare institutions as of 1 October. A detailed survey has been investigated every three years, and a simplified survey in those years between the two detailed surveys. The survey questionnaires consist of a basic and detailed questionnaire. Since the 2018 survey, the detailed questionnaire has been shifted from a complete survey to a sample survey. Report on Social Welfare Administration and Services This Report is conducted by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare to clarify the actual administrative performances based on the social welfare laws and regulations in the prefectures, designated cities and core cities, and to obtain basic data for the implementation of national government and local public agencies social welfare policy. The survey covers 13 administrative areas, including welfare for the physically disabled, integrated support for persons with disabilities, welfare for persons with intellectual disabilities, and child welfare, and is compiled every year in monthly and annual reports through the governments of prefectures, designated cities, and core cities. For fiscal 2012, the topics related to livelihood protection are integrated into the Survey on Public Assistance Recipients. Child Allowance Annual Report This report compiles the status of the implementation of the child allowance program. It is published annually by the Children and Families Agency (Up to fiscal 2021, it is published by the Cabinet Office) based on reports on the status of the provision of the child allowance submitted by prefectures, ministries and agencies. Based on the Child Allowance Act (in fiscal 2010 and 2011, the allowance under the name of "Kodomo teate" based on two acts legislated for this allowance), the child allowance has been implemented since 1972 with the aim of contributing to the stability of life at home, etc. and achieving stable living for families, etc. to help them bring up healthy children who will lead the next generation, based on the fundamental recognition that parents and other custodians have the primary responsibility for childrearing. Annual Report on Medical Care for the Elderly in the Latter-Stage This report is compiled based on reports on the status of medical care programs for the elderly aged 75 or over, etc. from extended federations for latter-stage elderly medical care. The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare publishes monthly reports (preliminary reports) and annual reports (final reports) for the purpose of identifying the business conditions of the medical care system for the elderly aged 75 or over and providing basic data for its sound management. Comprehensive Survey of Living Conditions (Fundamental Statistical Survey) This survey is conducted by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare with the aims of researching the basic conditions of the lives of the citizenry such as health, medical care, welfare, pension, and income; obtaining basic data for the planning and drafting of policies related to functions under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare; and establishing parent samples to extract
