The Fiscal 2023 Budget for the Statistics Bureau and the Director-General for Policy Planning (Statistical Policy) of Japan Approved
The Japanese government's budget for fiscal year 2023 was passed by the Diet on March 28, 2023. The nation's budget for general account spending is approximately 114.4 trillion yen, which marked a record high.
The total budget for the Statistics Bureau and the Director-General for Policy Planning (Statistical Policy) of Japan, excluding regular personnel expenses, is approximately 28.8 billion yen.

- The total population was 124,947 thousand, a decrease of 556 thousand (0.44%) from the previous year.
- The population under 15 years old was 14,503 thousand, a decrease of 282 thousand (1.91%) from the previous year.
- The population aged 15 to 64 was 74,208 thousand, a decrease of 296 thousand (0. 40%) from the previous year.
- The population aged 65 and over was 36,236 thousand, an increase of 22 thousand (0.06%) from the previous year.
- The Japanese population was 122,031 thousand, a decrease of 750 thousand (0.61%) from the previous year.
