The 27th Japanese Statistical Mission to China
The 27th Japanese Statistical Mission to China headed by Mr. Yoshihide Totani, Director-General of the National Statistics Center (NSC), visited China from December 5 to 10, 2011.
They discussed the implementation of the 2010 Population Census and the 2008 Economic Census of China with the staff of the National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBS).
In addition, the mission visited Shaanxi province, and exchanged information about the implementation structure of statistics in local governmental organizations with the staff of Shaanxi Provincial Bureau of Statistics.
Japan and China have been cooperating with each other to exchange statistical missions almost every year since 1980. The main purpose of this program is to develop official statistics for both governments. The missions have discussed a wide array of experiences and challenges regarding statistical issues, such as organization, surveys, data processing, data provision, and circumstances of local statistical organizations.
