VISITORS
The trainees in the SIAP visited SBJ
The United Nations Statistical Institute for Asia and the Pacific (SIAP) trainees visited the Statistics Bureau of Japan on both 1 and 4 September, 2008.
We received two different courses of trainees. One of the courses (the Area-Focused Training Course in the Collection and Analysis of Official Economic Statistics for Central Asian and Caucasus Countries, 2008) mainly learned about the current implementation of the Establishment and Enterprises Census. Another course (the Fourth Group Training Course in the Analysis, Interpretation and Dissemination of Official Statistics) mainly learned about the outline of the Labour Force Survey, while both also learned the statistical system, the revision of the Statistics Act in Japan, and the outline of the SBJ.
In addition, they visited the office of the Tabulation Group of the National Statistics Center and learned how to encode the data of the Population Census and economic surveys at close hand.
