NEWS HIGHLIGHTS
Trainees of the Population Census Practice and Analysis program for South America visited the Statistics Bureau of Japan
As a part of the JICA Project for Developing the Population Census Practice and Analysis for South America, six statistical officials from South American countries visited the Statistics Bureau of Japan (SBJ) on 3 and 4 July 2008.

They attended lectures mainly focused on the Population Census, Population Estimates, Grid Square Statistics, Geographic Information System (GIS) and tabulation system.
They also visited the Tabulation Group office of the National Statistics Center to learn data coding. At the Statistical Museum they observed historical statistical materials in Japan.
