  • "Supplementary-estimated figures in 2011"
    Figures covering from March through August 2011 have been complemented by estimation.

  • "2012 revision of benchmark population"
    Using the latest results of the Population Census as the base, the benchmark population for calculating the results of the Labour Force Survey are revised every five years.
    It has been revised to the 2010 Census-based population estimates in January 2012 for Basic Tabulation, and in Jan.-Mar. 2012 for Detailed Tabulation.

  • The results for whole Japan including three prefectures (Iwate, Miyagi and Fukushima) are available from - Oct.-Dec. 2011 - results. However, there are some enumeration districts in coastal area where the survey is not conducted due to the damage caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake.
    Figures from - Jan.-Mar. 2011 - through - Jul.-Sep. 2011 - for whole Japan are missing. Data excluding the three prefectures are filled in for the period.

Summary of the 2016 Average Results

  The number of the regular employee was 33.55 million, an increase of 510 thousand from the previous year.

  The number of the non-regular employee was 20.16 million, an increase of 360 thousand from the previous year.
