| Note: Because the method for compiling energy balance tables was revised in FY2001, energy supplies from FY1990 to FY2001 have been replaced by values based on new energy balance tables. Consequently, it should be noticed that strict comparisons between pre-FY1990 values and values for FY1990 and later is not possible. Furthermore, "new energy" has had "other wasted heat uses" added to it and been replaced by " new and renewable energy, excluding geothermal energy".
